SNMP Configuration 8-1
Chapter 8
SNMP Configuration
This chapter explains how to configure SNMP.
8.1 About SNMP
SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) is a protocol for network management and
monitoring. Your Prestige supports SNMP agent functionality, which allows a manager station to
manage and monitor the Prestige through the network. Keep in mind that SNMP is only available
if TCP/IP is configured on your Prestige.
8.2 Configuring SNMP
To configure SNMP, select option SNMP Configuration from the Main Menu to open Menu 22
SNMP Configuration, as shown in the next figure. The “community” for Get, Set and Trap fields
is simply SNMP’s terminology for password.
