LABEL DESCRIPTION
Restore Click this link to go to the Restore Configuration screen where you can restore a
previously stored configuration.
Backup Click this link to go to the Configuration Backup screen, where you can save the current
configuration of the VES to a computer.
Syslog Select this check box to activate syslog (system logging) and then configure the syslog
parameters described in the following fields.
Syslog Server IP
Address
Enter the IP address of the syslog server.
Log Facility Select one of 7 different options from the drop-down list box. The log facility allows you to
log the message to different files in the server. Please refer to the documentation of your
syslog program for more details.
Type Connection Detail Record (CDR) logs all VDSL connection activity if select the CDR check
box.
Service Access
Control
Service Access Control lets you manage Telnet, Web, FTP and ICMP services to enhance
security and flexibility. You can enable these services and customize the service port in this
screen. Set the secured client IP addresses in the Secured Client Sets screen.
Services You may manage Telnet, Web, FTP and ICMP services.
Enable Select the check box to enable the corresponding service.
Server Port Type the service port number here that corresponds to the port number you configured on
the server.
Time and Date
Setting
Time and Date Setting allows you to set the time manually or get the current time and date
from an external server when you turn on your VES. The real time is then displayed in the
device logs.
Use Time Server
when Bootup
Enter the time service protocol that your time server sends when you turn on the VES. Not
all time servers support all protocols, so you may have to use trial and error to find a
protocol that works. The main differences between them are the time format.
NTP (RFC-1305) is similar to Time (RFC-868).
None is the default value. Enter the time manually. Each time you turn on the VES, the
time and date will be reset to 2000-1-1 0:0:0.
Time Server IP
Address
Enter the IP address of your time server. The VES searches for the time server for up to 60
seconds.
Current Time This field displays the updated time when you refresh this menu.
New Time
(hh:min:ss)
Enter the new time in hour, minute and second format.
Current Date This field displays the updated date when you refresh this menu.
New Date
(yyyy-mm-dd)
Enter the new date in year, month and day format.
Time Zone Select your time zone from the drop-down list box.
Apply Click Apply to save your changes.
Cancel Click Cancel to begin configuring this screen afresh.
